Pay Range: $73,714.00 - $98,285.00 Provides senior‑level, independent oversight and technical expertise in the Real Estate Appraisal Department. Responsible for conducting comprehensive reviews of complex appraisal assignments and ensuring compliance with USPAP, Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines, and applicable state and federal regulations. Applies advanced appraisal knowledge and seasoned judgment to evaluate valuation methodologies, resolves complex appraisal issues, and supports sound, risk‑based decision making. Serves as a subject‑matter expert, mentor, and trusted advisor to lenders, appraisers, and internal stakeholders. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree and 5 years real estate appraisal experience, including commercial work. Completion of advanced appraisal coursework (e.g., Appraisal Institute advanced principles, income capitalization, market analysis). Strong knowledge of USPAP, Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines, FIRREA and applicable regulations. Proficiency with appraisal software and Microsoft Office Suite. MAI designation or active candidacy preferred. AI‑GRS designation or in process of achieving the designation preferred. Tasks Performed 45% – Appraisal Review & Valuation Risk Analysis: Conducts independent, comprehensive technical and administrative reviews of complex real estate appraisal assignments across commercial, industrial, income‑producing, agricultural, land, and special‑use property types. Evaluates the credibility of appraisal assumptions, market data, highest and best use analyses, valuation methodologies, and conclusions of value. Identifies valuation risks, deficiencies, or unsupported assumptions and recommends corrective actions or alternative valuation approaches to ensure sound, risk‑based lending decisions. 25% – Problem Solving, Dispute Resolution & Stakeholder Advisory: Analyzes complex or non‑standard appraisal issues and develops practical, experience‑based solutions. Leads the resolution of high‑complexity appraisal and valuation disputes involving appraisers, lenders, and internal stakeholders. Serves as a senior technical resource, providing guidance and expert judgment on appraisal, valuation, and environmental review matters. 15% – Compliance, Policy Interpretation & Vendor Oversight: Ensures compliance with USPAP, Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines, and internal appraisal and environmental policies. Provides senior‑level input into the interpretation, administration, and enhancement of appraisal and environmental risk management policies and procedures. Participates in the evaluation, approval, and performance monitoring of appraisal and environmental third‑party vendors, particularly for complex or higher‑risk assignments. 10% – Professional Leadership, Mentoring & Market Insight: Provides technical guidance and mentoring to junior review appraisers and appraisal staff. Contributes to training initiatives, development of appraisal review best practices, and continuous process improvement. Monitors and analyzes local, regional, and broader real‑estate market trends and incorporates relevant insights into appraisal review conclusions and risk assessments. 5% – Other Duties as Assigned Physical Requirements Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers.
