HGV Class 2 Driver – Event Hire & Logistics

£18.00 per hour | £765 per week rising to £807.50 after qualifying period

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and flexible HGV Class 2 Driver on behalf of a well-established event hire and logistics business based in North London .

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and growing operation offering long-term work with the potential for a permanent position following a successful qualifying period.

The role is primarily driving-based but also involves supporting warehouse and operational teams during busy periods, making it ideal for someone hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

You will be responsible for delivering and collecting event equipment across London and surrounding areas while ensuring vehicles are loaded, unloaded, and operated safely at all times.

Drivers will be expected to work flexibly across the company fleet, depending on operational requirements, including:

• 18T vehicles
• 7.5T vehicles
• 3.5T vehicles

Key responsibilities include:

• Multi-drop deliveries and collections for event hire operations
• Loading and unloading vehicles both onsite and offsite
• Ensuring safe transportation and handling of equipment
• Supporting warehouse operations when required
• Completing vehicle checks and maintaining compliance standards
• Providing professional service while representing the business on client sites

Please note: this role involves manual handling and heavy lifting, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.

Shift Pattern:

• 9-hour shifts (plus 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
• Shift rotation across Early / Mid / Late patterns
• Business operates 7 days per week
• Weekend availability required on a rota basis
• Flexibility is essential due to varying operational schedules

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence
• Driver CPC qualification
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Maximum 3 penalty points due to insurance requirements
• Minimum age of 21 due to insurance requirements
• Flexible approach to duties and vehicle allocation
• Good attitude and willingness to support wider operations
