Job Description

Point Quest Group is seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to support students within our Educational Services programs in the Education, Training & E-Learning department. In this role, you will provide high-quality American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation that ensures Deaf and hard-of-hearing students have full and equitable access to classroom instruction, school activities, and related services. Working primarily in school-based settings, you will interpret spoken English into sign and sign into spoken English during lessons, small-group work, assemblies, IEP meetings, and parent-teacher conferences, maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times. You will collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and administrative staff to understand instructional goals, classroom routines, and individual student needs. By preparing for classes in advance, reviewing lesson content, and learning specialized vocabulary, you will help students fully participate in academic content and social interactions. You will adapt your interpreting style to meet the communication modes and developmental levels of each learner, using clear, age-appropriate language and strategies that promote comprehension and independence. In addition, you will provide feedback to the educational team regarding access, engagement, and potential adjustments needed to better support each student’s success.
