Senior Financial Analyst

We create and curate celebrated series and films across distinct brands and make them available to audiences everywhere. Our portfolio includes targeted streaming services AMC+, Acorn TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, ALLBLK and HIDIVE; cable networks AMC, BBC AMERICA, Independent Film Company, Sundance TV and We TV; and film distribution labels Independent Film Company and RLJE Films. The company also operates AMC Studios, our in-house studio, production, and distribution operation behind acclaimed and fan-favorite originals including The Walking Dead Universe and the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and AMC Networks International, our international programming business.

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Global FP&A team based in our New York, NY office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Budget/forecast (content licensing and affiliate revenue)
  • Prepare detailed 5-year financial revenue and cash models.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts and databases.
  • Analyze close results and trends and prepare monthly close package.
  • Help prepare annual budget LRP and reports for senior management.
  • Perform financial analysis of proposed economics.
  • Review contractual provisions during negotiations to ensure economic terms within the financial model and contract agree.
  • Analyze subscriber and financial history.
  • Improve and maintain process for tracking and reporting content licensing sales.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to support the distribution business, as necessary.
  • Develop an understanding of AMCN distribution products and their position in the marketplace.
  • Research and summarize industry trends to inform forecast as well as renewal strategy.

Qualifications (Required & Preferred):

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Accounting/Finance, or a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in Financial Analytics
  • Prior experience with financial modeling is required.
  • Prior budget or forecast experience is required.
  • Prior experience within the Media industry preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Extremely diligent with a high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in high pressure situations.
  • Accountable for quality and accuracy of work.
  • Must be a creative problem solver and a quick thinker.

The base compensation for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 commensurate with experience. AMC Networks additionally offers a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Time Off, Paid Parental Leave and Adoption Services, among other benefit plan options, subject to eligibility requirements.
