Overview Join HGA's National Lighting Design team shaping spaces with purpose and impact in our Milwaukee, WI office. Are you passionate about the art and science of lighting design? HGA is seeking a Lighting Designer to join our Milwaukee office and collaborate on innovative, sustainable projects across healthcare, arts, education, and more. What You’ll Do Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to create holistic lighting solutions. Execute design development with technical analysis and creative input. Contribute to sustainable, high-performance environments that go beyond net-zero. Interact regularly and effectively with internal and external clients, contractors, building officials and other team members, both local and remote. Collaborate with lighting teams in various project types. Support design projects with exceptional design thinking, project imagery, design research, and project documentation. Perform lighting calculations, layouts, detail design, fixture selection, reports and presentation creations for lighting projects. Work on multiple projects and manage workload to meet project deadlines. Work independently as well as interact effectively with others (including architects, interior designers, and electrical engineers). You Will Need To Have Bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural engineering, interior design or related field 3 to 5 years’ experience designing the lighting design for commercial, institutional and healthcare facilities LC or PE designation preferred LEED AP Preferred Ability to perform lighting calculations, layouts, detail design, fixture selection, reports and presentation creations for lighting projects Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software) Working knowledge of AGI Proficiency with Revit Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator a plus Experience in Rhino 3D, Sketchup or other 3D visualization programs a plus A strong foundation in lighting design principles and technologies Creativity, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit Interest in sustainability and data-driven design Salary Information The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs.
