Job Description
Akkodis is seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a Contract position with a client in Canton, MA . This is a onsite role providing handson desktop and enduser support in a Windowsbased, cloudenabled environment. The position is a true Tier 2 / Tier 3 desktop support role, focused on daytoday IT operations, troubleshooting, and user support-not development or engineering.
Rate Range: $25/hour to $27/hour on W2; The rate may be flexible depending on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Desktop Support Technician job responsibilities include: - Provide handson desktop and enduser support for Windowsbased laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals in an onsite corporate environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows OS, hardware, and standard enterprise applications.
- Support Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and related productivity tools.
- Manage, triage, and resolve incidents using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.
- Assist with user onboarding, system access requests, login issues, and general IT support tasks.
- Support a cloudbased (Azure) environment at a basic navigation and support level (no engineering or architecture work required).
- Collaborate closely with remote Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support teams (Indiabased) to escalate, track, and resolve issues.
- Provide support for Kofax, a document management and workflow platform used for pensionrelated processes (training will be provided).
- Use basic SQL or Python knowledge to assist with simple troubleshooting tasks (running existing scripts or queries only; no development required).
Desired Qualifications: - Strong handson experience providing desktop support in Windows environments.
- Experience troubleshooting PCs, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Experience working with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, or similar).
- Basic familiarity with cloud environments (Azure).
- Very basic exposure to SQL or Python (for troubleshooting only; no scripting or development).
- Experience supporting document management or workflow tools (e.g., Kofax).
- 4+ years of Desktop Support / IT Support experience.
- Experience working in fastpaced, lean IT environments preferred.
