Administrative Assistant 2 Permanent / Full Time Location: Airway Heights Correction Center (AHCC) Salary Range: $4,213 - $5,611 Monthly Administrative Assistant 2 position is represented by Teamsters 117 bargaining unit. The Department of Corrections is seeking individuals for Airway Heights Corrections Center, a 2000+ bed male facility located about 10 miles west of Spokane. The position is under the Legal Liaison Office (LLO) reporting to CS2 and involves duties related to virtual court processes including arraignments, hearings, trials, and other court actions as supported by DOC policy. Responsibilities Support professional interactions with Criminal Justice Partners for requested court proceedings under direction of facility legal liaison. Process Civil Rights Complaints, Habeas Corpus, Personal Restraint Petition (PRP), Tort Lawsuits, Discovery/Request for Production, and Declarations received from Attorney General’s Office. Coordinate legal services for incarcerated individuals. Set up teleconferences, telephonic hearings, virtual hearings, professional visitations, depositions with attorneys, CPS, DCYF, DCS, Governor Ombuds, and DOC staff; provide backup to facilitate virtual hearings. Process Superintendent and Regional Correspondence in accordance with DOC Policy 110.300. Set up tours requested by local universities and colleges; provide backup for LLO. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school graduation or equivalent education. Three years of clerical, office, or administrative experience; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1 with equivalent education. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of DOC OMNI and CePrison electronic data systems. Knowledge of DOC Policies. Basic computer proficiency including Outlook, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OMNI. Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Clear understanding and commitment to DOC Core Values. One year experience as an Administrative Assistant 1; OR bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration or closely aligned field with two years of senior clerical level office experience. Work can be performed from home or another off‑site location within Washington state with reliable internet or cellular hotspot. Employees are expected to perform duties safely and maintain confidentiality. Onboarding may require onsite presence; some offices provide drop‑in areas but no dedicated workspace is provided.
